Easy Ground Beef Recipe

Traditional Gyros are made with lamb that is ground, spiced, made into a loaf, prepared, and sliced really thin. I believe you'll truly like these ground beef gyros. Easy, pleasing, tasty, and out of the standard for your normal weeknight fare. I also like that it's made with ground beef, meanings it's a lot more cost-effective than traditional lamb.
Traditional Gyro meat is mix of ground lamb and ground beef. It is ground really great, packed together with spices and gradually cooked on a vertical broiler. A few of these gyro cookers expense over $1,000.
It's a preferred in our house, if your household like gyros as much as mine, they'll enjoy this simple variation that's made with ground instead of lamb. It formulate like taco meat, simply spiced in a different way and served on flat bread with a scrumptious cucumber yogurt sauce and other normal gyro fixings.

Yield: 4 servings.

Ingredients
1/3 cup sliced seeded cucumber
2 tablespoons sliced onion
1 cup (8 ounces) plain yogurt
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 pound ground beef
1-1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 pita breads (6 inches), cut in half, warmed
3 cups shredded lettuce
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt, optional
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1 big tomato, sliced
1 little onion, sliced
Total Time: 30 min.

Directions
1. In a little bowl, incorporate the first 5 ingredients.
2. Chill.
3. In a big bowl, incorporate seasonings, crumble beef over mix and blend well.
4. Forming into 4 patties.
5. Grill, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in, from the heat for 6-7 minutes on each side or up until a thermometer checks out 160�.
6. Cut patties into thin pieces, stuff into pita halves.
7. Bring in tomato, lettuce and onion.
8. Serve with the yogurt sauce.
