Gua Bao Recipe

This is a popular street food that is typically referred to as Gua Bao (Gua Bao) or Taiwanese Hamburger. The conventional Gua Bao generally is includes pieces of braised pork tummy, pickled mustard, coriander and sprinkle of peanuts, however the standard concept is to have something soury or pickled yet crispy to trigger the richness of the soft fatty meat.

Ingredients
Pork Belly:.
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp chopped shallots
2 lbs pork belly, sliced into 2 inch pieces
Braising Ingredients:.
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp cooking wine
1/2 tsp 5-spice powder
1 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup soy sauce
Condiments:.
1 cup crushed peanuts
1/2 cup cilantro
Mustard Greens:.
4 tbsp vegetable oil
2/3 lb pickled mustard greens, chopped
1 tbsp soy sauce
Directions
1. Saute pickled mustard greens in about 4 tablespoon of veggie oil over medium-high heat for about 1 minute.
2. Include 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, stir around, then get rid of from heat.
3. Reserve.
4. Heat 2 tablespoon veggie oil in pan over medium high heat.
5. Include sliced shallots and saute briefly up until they turn golden brown.
6. Include pork belly and briefly stir fry.
7. Include braising active ingredients and give a boil.
8. Simmer and cover on low for 2-5 hours.
9. About 10 minutes prior to serving, include the cooked mustard greens and cook for an added 10 minutes.
10. Now you prepare to put together.
11. You can serve the dish like this, where the visitors can put together the baos themselves, or you can make each individual one for them.
12. Include a cube or more of pork belly, include some mustard greens, toss on some cilantro and crushed peanuts, and it's prepared to serve!
